Hello,
today it´s
my turn to present you some stunning trend in scrapbooking and card-making
world :-)
The
decision was easy. I have decided to write about world mania called FOIL.
Shiny, gold, coloured, with patterns, just plain without patterns ... you can
use it on a paper or for your embellishments.
Lesklá, zlatá, farebná, so vzormi, bez vzorov...
Dá sa použiť na papiere, ale aj na ozdoby.
Viac si môžete pozrieť na TOMTO ODKAZE. Ďakujem za návštevu
:-)
First it was one of the graphic techniquea used to print your business cards or special tags with a touch of gold colour. Expensive and luxury brands loved to use it.
Afterward
the brides found the shine of the gold :-) Gold foil is for those who don´t
want just the plain wedding cards but something more special.
It was just
the matter of time until the foil finds its place in the world of card making
and scrapbooking.
First we
have found it on the papers. The newest paper collections from My Mind´s Eye On
Trend and Fancy That include a lot of beautiful papers embellished with gold
foil.
The biggest
sensation on January´s CHA 2015 was caused by the Heidi Swapp who has
introduced her speciality - Minc Foil Applicator. Machine which applies the
foil to the paper and gives it the most irresistible shiny look ever :-) They
offer foils in amazing colours and I have found georgous & inspiring
project on their blog
Heidi
created even the special papers suitable for this technique and one of the
crafters who loves to use them on her card is Laura Sterckx.
Similar
foils offer the company called Therm O WEb as well. Amazing colours ! I
couldn´t pick up just one, could you ? :-)
Here are
few more samples of cards created using the foil. All were made by Jennifer
McGuire who give us a lot of trips and trick how to use foils on her blog.
The aim of
this post is not the explanation how the foils work or how to use them.
My aim is
to catch your attention and try to focus on foils :-)
I hope you
love the shine and sparkle as much as I do.
I have to
confess I am trying every single way to use foils on my cards and I am becoming
a little bit obsessed with it :-) Unfortunately, I don´t have the professional
foils mentioned above, just the ordinary ones from my local craft store and I
am not very pleased with the results so far. I mean, I love the foil / I hate
the outcome.
I will
definitely write tutorials and describe my experience to help you.
I hope you
liked this post and you are foil-addicted as I am :-)
