How I use washi tapes

Hello everyone,

today I´d like to share few tips and tricks how to use washi tape.

Prajem všetkým krásny deň,
dnes by som vám chcela prezentovať zopár trikov,
nápadov a inšpirácie ako využívať washi pásky vo vašej tvorbe.
Článok bol vytvorený pre Vintage crafting.sk a môžete si ho prečítať na tomto linku

I have created new Pinterest board with lots of washi ideas, so you can check it out.

I was willing to try this DIY project for a long time. Finally I have found a good reason to share it with you.  It´s so easy to make. Just glue 2 washi tapes together. Use bakers twine, wire or tooth pick for the centre piece. Cut out the feather shape and cut around.
Easy, relaxing and very addictive :)

My favourite way how to use washi tape is to create your own patterned paper.
Choose patterns which coordinates with each other and glue them together.

You can cut out different shapes with your punches or with your dies at Big Shot.
That´s the way I have created these Valentine´s Day Cards.

Or you can hide your washi patterned paper

and you reach interesting final effect on your card.

Sometimes all you need is just a strip of the washi tape. Combine it with interesting embellishments and you´re ready to send it out. These are the samples from my last year Christmas cards.

And here is my last example how I like to use washi tape. I´d like to concentrate on masking. It´s one of my favourite technique because it helps you to create real miracles on your projects :)

Don´t forget to remove some of the stickiness from the tape. Just tape it on your hand or your clothes first. Otherwise it will ruin your paper.

First stamp the flower, create a mask and glue it on. We want the flower to be the star of our card and protected from the color we are planning to use. Put the strips of washi tape onto the panel.

Apply the color. You can use whatever you prefer. I have decided for the Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon. Love this new bright blue color.

Using this technique you achieve amazing result.
Love this card so much.

Here is some close up.

I hope I have given you some inspiration how to use more washi tapes in your crafting.
Let me know what is your favourite way to use it or your favourite design.
Have an amazing day,

Valeria
